VERMIGRO

VermiGro by Umoja Soils is the preferred choice when it comes to earthworm castings to those in the know amongst the Stellenbosch and Helderberg community. This dark and nutrient rich soil solution, iconically known as Black Gold, has undergone a fine sifting process (4mm) for a refined premium product. It sells itself as the best natural organic fertilizer there is to offer, and it forms the underlying support of all our other products in the soil health range.

VERMIPURE 1L

VermiPure is our legendary homebrew of worm tea. It can be used directly as is or diluted, it will not burn your plant’s roots or leaves. If plants could party, this is what they would choose to drink. 

Our VermiPure worm tea is an inexpensive way to feed all vegetation from pot plants to vineyards without chemicals. It can also be used as a foliar feed to combat fungal infections.


VERMI SEEDLING MIX

VermiGro mixed with Perlite, Vermiculate and Coco coir – an ideal combo for planting seedlings. This is a specialist product and can be used for a variety of different seedlings. This mix can be customized for user needs on a quotation basis, and is made to order and takes time and a lot of love to produce. A turnaround time of 7 days is required, but is worth the wait. It is perfect for both outdoor containers or indoors in a tent.


ELITE VERMI SOIL CONDITIONER

Umoja’s Vermi-infused compost.

Our compost is the preferred product to establish new lawns and flower beds. It can be used to fill planter boxes and veggie gardens, and generally create those amazing gardens most people can only dream of.

100% organic, it’s chemical-free and filled with VermiGro for an extra nutritional boost. It is fine to medium compost (10mm), with just enough roughage to keep on decomposing in your garden. Chances are high, you will find the odd earthworm in there too. It is a living soil and life promotes life.


ELITE VERMI POTTING SOIL

Our Elite Vermi Potting Soil undergoes a rough sifting process (14mm) and is infused with Elite Vermi Soil Conditioner. This rough process produces a product that combines sticks, stone, compost and vermicast. Ideally used as a base that will naturally break down over time and will only require topping up with our Elite Vermi Soil Conditioner or VermiGro every now and again. This is living soil!

Our Agriculture Potting mix is a very rough mix that is usually supplied to nurseries and the agricultural trade for the growing of fruit trees and shrubs.

 


VERMI MULCH

Help reduce global warming by using mulch on bare soil. This aids in reducing erosion and soil compaction. Mulch helps regulate the microclimate at a ground level, keeping it warmer on cold nights and cooler on hot days. Mulch reduces water loss from soil surface, which helps maintain soil moisture, and as an added bonus, mulch combats weeds by keeping light from reaching the soil surface. Our mulch is a rough product. It contains our famous VermiGro worm castings and humus mixed with rough chips.

WOOD CHIPS

Our high-performance culture medium is a living soil. Our VermiGro carefully blended with Perlite, Vermiculture, Coco coir (inoculated), Elite Vermi Soil Conditioner and added organic nutrients. It is developed to support the ideal growth of quality plants. Our mix is perfect for growing indoors and outdoors, in pots and tents.

A fine combination of VermiGro and sand that undergoes a 4mm sifting that aerates your lawn for better growth, while the worm castings help with water retention due to their unique humid acid content. The results are amazing!!

Wood chips are ideally used in your garden to promote soil health and reduce evaporation, but can also be used to control weeds and for decorative purposes. Our wood chips are mainly pine with local timber from the gardens and farms of the Stellenbosch region.
